Estonian Chamber of Commerce, Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Estonian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia organized a 26-day of September in Tallinn Latvian-Estonian Business Seminar “Latvia and Estonia in Business – Separately or Together?”

Seminar was opened by the Mr. Juhan Parts, Estonian Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications and Mr. Daniels Pavļuts, Economic Minister of Latvia

Moderator of the day: Hele Lõhmus, Estonian Business Chamber in Latvia, presentation of survey results from Est-Lat programme project „Delbi” about cooperation between LV and EE

The first part discussed the “Cooperation between Estonia, Latvia and commonly with third countries, future perspectives”

Second part – “How different Estonia and Latvia actually are?”

Business differences – how to establish a company in both countries, major differences in law and taxes etc. Cultural differences in business behavior and doing business in Latvia and in Estonia

Discussion it was found that it is important to create a common trade between the two countries house a third country which would enable the operators to start the period as offices and arrange meetings. Estonia and Latvia business mission could be shared.

Finally, it was concluded that the Estonian-Latvian economic seminar would take place every year.
